My last review was totally out of line. Thanks to the new owners for getting back to me right away. I wish there was a way to delete my last review, but I can't figure out how to do it on yelp here. In any case, this is wonderful that the owner got back to me and assured me that they still have New York style chow mein. I can't wait to have it and try it. I'm hoping it has sauce like it does in New York. I noticed by going into this restaurant. It was so much cleaner than it used to be with the old owners. Although it's not remodeled to some trendy LA restaurant, which I am glad for, you can tell that it's been cleaned up and it looks so much nicer in there. I hope to go back again, and I am sorry if I upset the young man who served me . I can't wait to try all the great food in there and did not realize that New York style chow mein was on the menu because I didn't see it. I realize it was two years since the ownership changed, but I very rarely get to that part of town and I was just passing through going to the east Valley and decided to check out the restaurants since it's been a while and the hours were sporadic for a very long time . In any case, please treat me well when I come back! I have a feeling I'm gonna write another review talking about how good the food is because I'm looking forward to it and I have a feeling it's really gonna be good . Thank you again for getting back to me and writing on here that was very special and I appreciate it very much.. hopefully I will see you soon when I'm going that way on the 101 or on Ventura.

We were there to attend private birthday event for a close relative. It was a late lunch event with an all-you-can-eat buffet, a combination of dim-sums and lunch menu items. The buffet items were kept coming as the parties goers kept gobbling up all the items. The restaurant was cozily spaces enough for approximately 100 patrons. There was a bar stocked with enough wines and liquor but for the event, the bar wasn't open for our group. The dishes were tasty with a little on salty side. Perhaps, you may request less salt on your dishes if you have high blood pressure issue. The parking was limited to spaces for 15-20 cars. There were street parking available, though. Ev chargers were not available close by. I'm enclosing some catering menu item. They may be a bit on mid to high side on price wise due to high cost of rent in the area. Bon appetite. Please enjoy and support our local restaurants.

There are fewer and fewer of the old style "Americanized Chinese" restaurants that were so popular in the 1980's. The China Garden is one of the remaining ones keeping this tradition of dining and style of food alive in the SFV. Yes, the ambiance is dated (but also 'retro'). Yes, this is not traditional Chinese cuisine. But let's be honest, if you live in L.A. and are looking for traditional Chinese dining, you have many options... the days of having your choice of a great place to grab some sweet and sour pork, moo shu, or chow down on some orange chicken 'family style' are gone, but fortunately The China Garden is one place that still offers this experience! There is both street parking and a lot in the back... so parking isn't really an issue. There is a large dining room and I've never had to wait to get a table. Service is very friendly and quick, so this is a great place to grab a lunch on a weekday. They also offer take out and delivery, both of which are fast, efficient, and convenient! We have tried the sweet and pungent chicken, the orange chicken, and the lo mein, all of which were very tasty and just what we were looking for! The service is very friendly, the food hot and tasty, everything you'd expect from this type of restaurant. We're fans and we plan to add this to our rotation when we're in the mood for some good Chinese food!

This review is specific to their Dim Sum, which is offered daily. Overall food is good, the spicy wontons and chicken baos could use a little more seasoning. Recommend the Turnip Cake and Siu Mai. Attentive service, overall a quiet lunch spot.

After a long drive down from NorCal (extra breaks for the lil baby), we didn't feel like going out to eat so we searched for some Chinese Food on DoorDash and came across the China Garden. The food came on time with the bag stapled, but there were no utensils provided. The food was pretty good! We ordered the egg fried rice, sweet and sour pork, honey walnut shrimp, & orange chicken. The fried rice was a bit bland- could use more flavor, but when you eat it with the other items, it's good. The honey walnut shrimp was coated well with the sauce, but the walnuts seemed like they were tossed in at the end because they were plain. The orange chicken did not have any hints of orange flavor. The sweet and sour pork was the star, great flavor and texture!

Favorite Chinese food in the valley. I love the Kung Pao Shrimp and I ask for it extra spicy. The delivery is extremely fast. I've done pick up and delivery. I've seen the interior of the restaurant when doing pick up and it's lovely. Courteous and kind staff.
